Resources to access from home – this is a list of resources that can be used from home. They have been grouped together by subject and have a little bit of information to let you know some more about them.




Literacy – free to use on a computer – free audio video books that support reading  - free ebooks – free resources and online activities - Handa’s surprise video and ideas

Phonics  - free during lockdown - £15 for a yearly subscription - free online phonics games - free online trial for phonics activities


MyMaths – ask teachers for individual log in details. Teachers will set online maths tasks in line with students IEP/ EHCP Targets – free online maths games - maths activities sorted into topics - online games Free trial – maths online activities

Communication – free downloads to a range of social stories/ visuals - links to communication activities and resources

YouTube  - search for videos or songs relating to an activity (A J Jenkins songs are very good and link to lots of areas of the curriculum) – a range of online and interactive games – English and maths games and online activities - videos, quizzes and activities.

CBBC channel – 3 hours of primary school programmers from 9am each day – links to a range of activities to support learning – links to a range of games to support learning

Video and interactive lessons from Oak National Academy for reception up to year 11 to support remote education. - Has worksheets to print off and interactive games/ activities for all the subjects in the national curriculum.

Twinkl – free for lockdown – PowerPoints and printable resources – Has free printable worksheets mainly in Maths/ English. - Educational resources for pupil’s with special needs. It has activities, songs, games, picture cards, and ideas for help with fine motor skills and emotions etc. - an extensive list and links to virtual learning resources - list of the best downloadable apps for students with autism – high quality online activities that link to subject areas – online videos and games

Sensory - ideas to support self – regulation - list and images of ideas for sensory play with recipes for gloop, slime and having fun with jelly! - list of activities to encourage self-regulation

Lots of practical hands on activities to do if you don’t mind getting messy such as making gloop and using shaving foam and  sand for sensory exploration.

Story podcasts from Pete Wells – just click on the special stories link on the home page and choose a free story.

More great sensory stories including Sheldon the snail and Elvis the singing bull! Just click on the script and download the power point for a great interactive and fun sensory story. You can add resources to go with it or not depending on what you have available.  Lots of fun.

Contains some useful links for parents/carers of people with additional needs during the first covid lockdown (some information may be out of date) but which you may find useful now including links to TV channels and The Sensory Theatre Company Frozen Light’s production which can be downloaded as a power point with music. Also bagbook stories link (or type in bagbooks sensory stories on you tube to hear some stories read aloud. The moving day story is easy to resource and we have a bag book of ‘The Haircut’ in school to complement the story -telling for anyone that would like to borrow during lockdown.
