Can you tell us something about yourself and what strengths you bring to the governing body? Include occupation and background if relevant. I am fortunate in having worked with children for over 30 years. For 20 years I was a teacher in mainstream secondary and special schools (including teaching at Brentwood many years ago) and for over 10 have worked as a counsellor supporting and teaching young people to improve their emotional and mental health. I have worked in many schools over the years and seen many changes and I have served as a Governor on 2 governing bodies previously. I am also mum to young person with additional needs and part of the Brentwood community of families and I hope that this hugely valued role will also allow me to share useful experience that may be helpful to the governing body. |
Do you have any relevant business or pecuniary interests? Are you a governor in another education institution? None |
Do you have any material interests arising from relationships between governors or relationships between governors and school staff? None |
Why did you want to be a governor at Brentwood? Brentwood has been such an important part of my family’s life and still enriches, inspires and supports us. The opportunity to give a little something back is a real privilege for which I am thankful. For me, Brentwood is a very special place. |
What impact has being a governor at Brentwood had on you? I feel honoured to work alongside the diligent, committed staff to serve Brentwood students and their families and will do my very best as a Governor.
