Can you tell us something about yourself and what strengths you bring to the governing body? Include occupation and background if relevant.

I am fortunate in having worked with children for over 30 years. For 20 years I was a teacher in mainstream secondary and special schools (including teaching at Brentwood many years ago) and for over 10 have worked as a counsellor supporting and teaching young people to improve their emotional and mental health. I have worked in many schools over the years and seen many changes and I have served as a Governor on 2 governing bodies previously.

I am also mum to young person with additional needs and part of the Brentwood community of families and I hope that this hugely valued role will also allow me to share useful experience that may be helpful to the governing body.

Do you have any relevant business or pecuniary interests? Are you a governor in another education institution?

Do you have any material interests arising from relationships between governors or relationships between governors and school staff?

Why did you want to be a governor at Brentwood?

Brentwood has been such an important part of my family’s life and still enriches, inspires and supports us. The opportunity to give a little something back is a real privilege for which I am thankful. For me, Brentwood is a very special place.

What impact has being a governor at Brentwood had on you?

I feel honoured to work alongside the diligent, committed staff to serve Brentwood students and their families and will do my very best as a Governor.
