    Help for households

    In September 2022 the Prime Minister announced an Energy Price Guarantee which would see households' annual energy bills regulated to £2,500 per year on average, for the next two years. Please visit the government's Energy bills support factsheet for more on this support.

    Trafford Assist is the Council’s local welfare assistance scheme to help residents in short-term acute financial difficulties. You can get emergency help with food, energy and water bills, essential travel expenses, white goods and furniture.

    Households on certain low-income benefits, like Universal Credit, Income Support. Tax Credits and Pension Credit, will receive a £650 cost of living payment. This will be paid automatically in two instalments.

    Disabled people receiving benefits related to their disability may receive a £150 one-off Disability Cost of Living Payment, paid automatically.

    Pensioner Cost of Living Payment will be paid automatically from November 2022 to households who qualify for the Winter Fuel Payment.

    All domestic households will receive a £400 energy rebate through the Energy Bills Support Scheme - your energy supplier will apply this discount to your energy bills for you from October 2022.

    Trafford households in Council Tax bands A-D also received a £150 Council Tax energy rebate in April 2022.

    TBBT makes life more affordable for people on a low income, builds stronger communities and reduces food waste using an innovative and self-sustaining approach to the redistribution of surplus food and non-food items.

     

    TBBT provide weekly groceries at the fraction of the high street prices through their membership scheme. They will try to provide you with some fruit, veg and something for your cupboard and fridge.

     

    A typical order is three shopping bags, one of fridge goods, one of cupboards goods and one full of fruit and veg, this costs £7.50.

    They also accept Healthy Start vouchers.

    Inclusive Tennis from Hale Tennis club: 

    Hale Lawn tennis club is running subsidised tennis lesson for Autistic young people and young people with Social and Communication difficulties. The group will run fortnightly from May 14th to July 16th 4.30 – 5.30. 

     

    We aim to create a 'social club' feel, as well as introducing more players to the sport we love.

    • The sessions run fortnightly from 14th May to July 16th 4.30-5.30
    • For young people aged 10 – 16 years old
    • Our coaches are trained in to work with children with Autism
    • £3.00 per session
    • Please also join us in the club house after for a hot dog
    • Siblings welcome
    • Social story will be emailed out to all participants
