The Governing Board provides strategic leadership and oversight for Brentwood School, supporting the school’s vision, ethos and priorities, holding leaders to account for educational performance, and overseeing the effective use of resources.

The Full Governing Board meets termly, with an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held each autumn term to confirm governance appointments, responsibilities and statutory business. The Board is supported by two committees with delegated responsibilities. The Finance Committee (Chair - Simon Batchelor) meets termly and is responsible for financial planning, budget monitoring, premises and resources, and ensuring value for money. The Curriculum and Standards Committee (Chair - Gill Bell), being reinstated in July 26, oversees the quality of education, student outcomes, safeguarding, attendance, curriculum development and statutory performance information.

Each committee operates under agreed Terms of Reference and reports to the Full Governing Board to support informed decision-making and effective governance.
